  1. What's your reads on the SB? I like the raise pF, but think a check on the flop is ok. Control the pot size, then bet the turn when SB checks. If he flats my turn bet, I am checking the river or folding to SB's bet.

A passive SB's calling range could have any ace, and hands with a K, Q, or J. So that flop looks dangerous. Was he/she passive?

    Just my $0.02.

P.S. Why am I telling you all this? Now I'm gonna have to re-strategerize my lines when we get in a SB v BB battle.

  2. Well, he'd been very active, playing lots of pots, and many of his showdowns were marginal hands. And I believe my image was very good, w/ premium hands showndown for wins.

I made the move pre simply trying to get him off the hand and cbet flop b/c I was at least trying to rep the A. When we both checked turn and river, I had two choices (imo), check it (which I should've done and just let go of the hand at that point) or put him to the decision for his tourney life by putting him AI. Not much of a decision when you've got two pair, but he did take a nice bit of time to think about it before calling. In his shoes, I'd done same thing. Bad moves on my part. But I'm changing everything up so don't even think you've got me figured out yet.

    j/k - =)

    Thanks for reading and commenting!

  3. I decided to gain your poker advice after the great and powerful Steve Brogan mentioned you. Now I'm starting to reconsider. ;-)

I've learned the hard way in hands just like this that players like you've described aren't the type of players that you should try and bluff. Especially out of position.

If they catch a piece of the board they can't seem to fold.

I still do it but not as much as I used to.

MicroRoller - yep, that is the end all be all and you hit it spot on. Sure wish I could replay that hand. I appreciate the comment most particularly because it's an excellent reminder. Thank you!
